The country's oldest city brims with historic allure. A treasure trove of ancient temples, forts, and buildings, it narrates stories from the island's rich past.  

Fort Zeelandia (Anping Fort): Originally built by the Dutch in the 17th century, this iconic fort stands as a testament to Tainan's colonial past. Its remnants, including walls and a museum, offer insights into Taiwan's early days of foreign trade and conflict. 

Confucius Temple: Dating back to 1665, this is Taiwan's oldest Confucian temple. It's a serene spot, reflecting classical Chinese architecture and offering a deep dive into Confucian philosophy and education in Taiwan. 

Chihkan Tower (Fort Provintia): This fort, another Dutch relic, has seen various rulers and renovations over centuries. Today, it is surrounded by lush gardens and statues, narrating tales of resilience and change. 

Koxinga Shrine: Dedicated to Koxinga, a national hero who expelled the Dutch from Taiwan, this shrine is a tribute to his contributions and the Ming loyalists' era. The site includes a museum showcasing artifacts from his life and times. 

Anping Tree House: Once a salt merchant's warehouse, it's now an enchanting site where banyan tree roots have overtaken the building. This unique blend of nature and history makes it a fascinating spot to explore.
